Kars is a Consultant within the Digital Law & Ethics expertise group at Highberg. After completing his master’s in Law & Technology: in Europe at Utrecht University, Kars applies his skills and knowledge to support organizations in their digital transformation. For Kars, privacy touches on a core aspect of every organization: being a position of trust.
To ensure that citizens or customers have confidence in the organization, it is essential to have proper data management. Privacy is the starting point for this. His work, including conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), filling internal roles within organizations, providing training, drafting policies and documentation, and raising privacy awareness, all contribute to this goal.

Kars believes it is important to work in a structured and results-oriented manner so that organizations can implement the best possible position of trust. With technological advancements and the resulting legislation, organizations are faced with many challenges. Kars specializes in advising organizations on privacy legislation (such as GDPR) and digital ethics. While more is possible with digital technologies, the question remains: does the organization want to pursue it? Kars assists organizations in formulating an answer to this question. He is an effective communicator and enjoys making legislation and complex matters more tangible. Together with the organization, Kars focuses on the question: what works best for the organization.
