Ensuring that "something" works is always Bart's goal, whether it involves an ICT solution, process change, behavioral change, or personal development. Bart draws energy from connecting goals and results, people and objectives, and people and ICT. He uses clear, direct communication, structured tasks, and a people-oriented approach to achieve this.

Bart combines his technical university education with extensive experience as a Consultant and Project/Program Manager, and being an EIA-certified coach. This experience led him to take on the role of Manager of the Security & Risk Expertise Group. As a Managing Consultant at Highberg, Bart specializes in information security with a focus as an expert on identity and access management.

He supports organizations with policy, governance setup, business considerations, implementation, and compliance, such as with NEN7510 and government baselines. He provides direction on these topics at both strategic and technical levels, acting as a linchpin between business, governance, processes, and technology.

In projects for large organizations like the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and UWV, he has specifically guided governance research and/or implementation. Bart has been responsible for (part of) the implementation of the BIO at several government organizations, serving as a program manager, project manager, or expert in a specific area. He has held various roles in both the public and private sectors, such as expert, advisor, researcher, product owner, business project leader, program manager, or technical project leader.
He played a substantive role in the eRecognition agreement system with market parties and government service providers as primary stakeholders.
Bart holds a Master of Security in Information Technology (MSIT, TU/e Postgraduate School, TIAS/Nimbas), and is certified CISM and CISA. Additionally, he is an accredited coach at the EIA practitioner level.
