Unlock the potential of your organisational culture with the Highberg culturescan

Why do I want to measure my organizational culture?

Companies have limited resources, such as time and budget, to invest. This also applies to managing organizational culture, so it's important for organizations to focus properly during the culture change process. In practice, managers often make decisions about organizational culture based on intuition and assumptions.

However, these assumptions are not always accurate, leading to changes that may not be the most effective use of resources. The solution? By utilizing concrete data and analytical tools, organizations can gain objective insights, enabling decisions based on facts rather than assumptions. This approach minimizes the risk of errors caused by biases or incomplete information. As many of our clients have experienced, this method results in better strategic choices, increased employee productivity, and a stronger competitive position.

What is the Highberg company culture scan?

To help organizations understand their culture, Highberg introduced the culture scan. This scan has three main parts: a quantitative survey to get a general overview of the organization and its culture, a qualitative survey with open-ended questions for deeper insights, and strategic observations made by our consultants. Collaboration is key for all three parts, as we work closely with the client to create an action plan for the entire assessment. The survey questions are based on scientific research or on methods we’ve developed and validated, giving us a solid starting point to understand the company culture. To add more context to the survey results, we conduct follow-up interviews. Finally, we observe leadership and work styles by attending meetings and watching how people interact in the office.

We present the key insights from the surveys and our observations in a management report. Important is to not just look at the total organisation, but also the subcultures that have formed within the team. For example, are there differences between employees that have just joined the organisation versus those that have been working here for longer? And what are the differences between teams?

The culturescan is not just focussed on assessing the current culture, but also provides into insight into the desired culture. Therefore, clear action points are added to the management report. Along with the management report, we provide customized dashboards that are interactive and visualize the results of the culture scan. This makes it easy for clients to delve deeper into certain subgroups, in case more information is necessary. This also allows for multiple culture assessments to be compared to eachother.
