Thomas Mollema

Thomas is passionate about contributing to responsible, ethical, and accountable AI development and deployment. As a Data & AI consultant, he advises on fair AI development and supports public and government organizations in implementing AI ethics principles and frameworks. This involves both minimizing the risks and drawbacks of AI systems and leveraging their potential. Thomas has an affinity for government organizations such as municipalities and provinces, and his skill set enables him to advise on their technical, ethical, and strategic challenges related to responsible AI. Thomas has gained experience as a consultant in asset management information modeling. This has provided him with a solid background in standardizing municipal data on public space management and in data-driven work and governance based on standards. He has contributed to both the development and application of standards and has chaired a committee for the alignment of standards. Additionally, he is the author of several publications on topics such as the philosophy of AI and conceptual ethics.His BA in Philosophy (Erasmus University Rotterdam) enables Thomas to engage in deep conceptual thinking and has greatly contributed to the development of his speaking and writing skills. The MSc in Artificial Intelligence he obtained from Utrecht University provided him with knowledge of the technical foundations of AI, and Thomas specialized in investigating the social, ethical, and political consequences of AI.
