Arjen's primary driver, or what energizes him, is being challenged within complex environments, analyzing them, and developing robust, future-proof solutions and outcomes that meet—or preferably exceed—the expectations of the client.

Arjen is a driven Senior Security Specialist with extensive experience at the intersection of business, ICT, and cybersecurity within both public and private organizations. He has over 27 years of experience as a Senior Consultant in complex political and administrative environments and broad experience in leading ICT and security projects.

Arjen's areas of expertise include GDPR & Wjsg, ENSIA, ISO 27001/2, BIO, security audits, SOC/SIEM (IBM QRadar, HP ArcSight, MS Sentinel), security incident management, threat and vulnerability management, policy-based access control (PBAC), Identity Access Management (IAM), project management, PKI, smart cards, security cloud computing, outsourcing, ITIL, awareness campaigns, and Zero Trust / SASE.

Clients and colleagues describe Arjen as results- and client-oriented and a team player with a strong sense of responsibility. He is action-oriented and enjoys working on security and privacy projects to help clients demonstrably enhance their security levels.
In addition to his project work, Arjen has been an active member of a regional municipal CISO working group and a national municipal privacy and security platform for sharing up-to-date knowledge and experience in privacy and security solutions.

In his free time, he is a passionate road cyclist and gravel biker. These sports allow him to maintain his mental and physical fitness while enjoying nature and the social aspects of these activities.
