Bas Drogtrop brings over 25 years of experience in digital growth, innovation, and performance marketing. He helps leaders translate the potential of AI into tangible business impact and sustainable growth. As the founder of GetSparked, one of the largest European communities for AI founders, executives, and investors, he possesses a broad network and thought leadership. Drogtrop played a key role in the successful growth of several tech startups and scale-ups and has also held various leadership roles at organizations such as CLIQ Digital, Insider, and Dunnhumby (Tesco).

In his role as Director of AI, Drogtrop will identify commercial opportunities in AI and build and maintain long-term relationships with (senior) management of existing and potential clients. He will lead projects that help organizations implement AI structurally and effectively, collaborating closely with colleagues across various disciplines, taking responsibility for both successful execution and measurable commercial and operational results. He will also develop new AI services that address specific client challenges and needs, and mentor junior team members to strengthen their skills and professional growth in AI applications.

"AI is no longer an experiment; it's a strategic priority that ensures clients structurally embed AI projects and make a real impact, but only if it's integrated into core processes and people are actively involved," says Bas Drogtrop, Director of Artificial Intelligence at Highberg. "At Highberg, the human aspect has always been paramount, complemented by new technology. In my new role, I look forward to further developing this approach together with the team and supporting clients in the structural and impactful implementation of AI projects."

"We're incredibly excited about Bas' arrival. Clients often lack a structured approach to truly embed AI in core processes and involve employees, resulting in slow adoption and missed opportunities," says Han Driessen, CEO of Highberg. "With his experience in successfully applying AI, he'll help Highberg clients structurally embed AI in their organizations."
