About the role

As a Senior consultant digital law at Highberg, you advise our clients in the public and semi-public sectors on various legal issues. You coordinate large projects, serve as the project manager, and guide colleagues in the execution of the project and in their development. You help our clients gain insight and oversight regarding all complex legal requirements concerning the use of data, AI, and digitization, and their implementation within an organization’s business processes: the essential link that translates legal matters into daily (IT) practice and communicates this in understandable language to various stakeholders.

Your main tasks at #Highberg

  • Leading (internal) teams with other (junior) colleagues on large IT projects with a legal component, maintaining close contact with clients.
  • Providing education and training for clients focused on digital legislation.
  • Conducting impact assessments on various legislation (e.g., the Digital Government Act, Electronic Publications Act, and Data Governance Act), where you practically map out the impact of a law for the client.
  • Carrying out implementation assignments to help clients comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Serving as a legal advisor within large organizations.

  • A sociable individual who values client relationships, identifies commercial opportunities, and takes decisive action.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch.

What we are asking

  • A completed WO (Master’s) degree in Law with a specialization in IT, privacy, and/or health law.
  • At least 8 years of work experience in the field of privacy, information security, IT law, or similar areas.
  • Commercial skills, including experience in writing project proposals and quotes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch.
  • Experience in the public sector is a plus.
  • Additional education or certification in IT, privacy, and/or health law (such as CIPP/E or Grotius Academy in IT, data & law, or Privacy law) is a plus.
