Your main tasks at #Highberg

As a Cloud Architect, you operate at the intersection of continuously evolving business operations and IT infrastructure, cloud applications, procurement of cloud services, and office automation. You serve as a dialogue partner for executives, CIOs, and other leaders, assisting them in achieving their goals with concrete advice. Naturally, you excel at articulating these recommendations effectively to your clients. You provide independent advice, free from product and vendor biases.

You achieve this by applying your advanced knowledge of virtualization, cloud platforms (such as Azure and AWS), and integration. You contribute to the development of IT architectures by translating visions into principles that guide your designs. You frequently collaborate with (ICT) managers, program/project managers, IT purchasers, and subject matter experts. The projects you undertake at Highberg are prestigious IT initiatives with significant societal impact.

Who you are

  • Junior/Medior: You have an interest in mastering adjacent architecture domains (business, application, enterprise) to become a broad discussion partner.
  • Senior (supplemented with): You are familiar with technologies such as Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Software Defined Data Center/Network, virtualization, automation, and orchestration.
  • Senior (supplemented with): You have knowledge of key cloud concepts such as on-premises, cloud, and hybrid architectures. Additionally, as an advisor, you have experience translating business needs into cloud services (for example, digital workplace with Office 365).

What we are asking

  • Junior: A completed HBO (Bachelor’s) or WO (Master’s) degree in IT.
  • Junior: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch.
  • Medior (supplemented with): Knowledge of and experience with working with cloud solutions (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS) and ICT infrastructure (digital workplace, network, and data center).
  • Senior (supplemented with): Experience in roles such as cloud architect/advisor, technical architect, technical project manager on ICT projects, or solution architect on projects with an ambition to also advise at a higher abstraction level and grow in this capacity.
  • Senior (supplemented with): Experience in independently acquiring advisory assignments.

What we are offering

  • A competitive salary and excellent benefits including performance pay, provisions for mobility, pension and leave.
  • Sincere attention to personal development including coaching by colleagues, access to and wide range of education and training and a personal development plan with matching investments.
  • A place within a challenging and growing organization where taking personal responsibility is valued, you have the autonomy and freedom to perform your work flexibly with short lines of communication with colleagues.
  • A pleasant working environment with a pleasant and easily accessible office, focus on performance as a team and not on the individual and numerous social activities such as get-togethers, sports activities and team meetings.

Our application process

At Highberg, we see applying as a meaningful two‑way conversation. It is about finding the right match for you as well as for us. Our selection process is transparent, thoughtful, and efficient, so you gain a clear understanding of who we are and how we work. Here is what you can expect:

1 Introductory conversation

We start with an introductory conversation to get to know you better. We discuss your background, interests, and motivations, and we also tell you more about Highberg, our culture, and our way of working.

2 In‑depth conversation

If there is enthusiasm on both sides, you will meet with team members and or managers. We take a deeper look at your experience, ambitions, and way of collaborating, and explore together whether there is a good match with our projects and approach.

3 Case, presentation, or follow‑up conversation

Depending on the role, we may ask you to work on a short case, give a presentation, or have an additional conversation. This gives both you and us a better view of your expertise and way of thinking in practice.

4 Offer and Onboarding

If we are both keen to move forward, you will quickly receive an offer. After that, we provide a warm onboarding experience so you feel welcome from day one and quickly find your way within Highberg.
