"As an IT auditor, you develop a comprehensive understanding of IT and processes. I find that acquiring and sharing this knowledge with clients and colleagues is something that drives me. Additionally, as an IT auditor, you can add value by engaging with clients on process improvements to enhance internal controls. Helping organizations improve is always my ultimate goal."

Gideon van Dijk, IT-auditor at Highberg

Examples of projects you will carry out as IT-auditor

As an IT auditor at Highberg, assignments can include both audits and independent investigations, as well as advisory tasks. For example, you may conduct ENSIA and DigiD audits for municipalities, among others, or independently investigate the implementation of information security policies in various organizations. Typical clients include municipalities, water boards, ministries, or executive agencies, with whom Highberg holds framework agreements for audit services. Additionally, you may be asked to advise on the implementation processes of new IT systems or the establishment of governance and control frameworks for information management within an organization, including the role of technology. Key contacts at clients may include staff, management, and executives, as well as supervisory boards or boards of directors. This requires effective communication at various levels and the ability to strike the right tone in the advisory and research reports you produce.
